OCADU (Ontario College of Arts and Design University)'s Course Selection Web Portal

Overview

Recognizing the lack of course guidance at OCADU within the registration system. This leads to students feeling less confident and unable to adequately plan for their future career. As a student who struggled with figuring their interests, I felt the urge to create a new concept for planning courses for students that is more digestible.

Results: Quantifiable research that proves there is a problem to stakeholders, a newly designed web portal to better serve students. Currently in discussion of implementation.

Solution

Students struggle to find courses related to their career goals and interests due to limited guidance from academic advisors and the institution. Additionally, the course registration system’s cluttered interface makes it difficult to navigate and identify relevant pathways, leaving students uncertain about which courses align with their future aspirations.

01. More Personalized Career Path Recommendations
02. Better Streamlined Academic Advising Integration
03. Improved Information Architecture for Course Listings
